Purpose

The Frozen Manager is responsible for overseeing all frozen department operations to ensure product freshness, inventory accuracy, strong in‑stock conditions, and high merchandising standards. This role leads associates, drives sales performance, and maintains compliance with food safety, temperature control, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities Manage daily frozen department operations, including frozen food stocking, rotation, and recovery Ensure proper rotation, dating, facing, and temperature compliance Order merchandise accurately to maintain in‑stock levels while controlling shrink Execute planograms, promotional displays, and seasonal resets Maintain clean, organized backroom freezers and accurate backstock flow Monitor damages, out‑of‑codes, and inventory discrepancies and take corrective action Leadership & Team Management Hire, train, coach, and develop Frozen department associates Schedule associates based on workload, deliveries, and labor targets Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity and quality standards are met Address attendance, performance, and development opportunities appropriately Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork Customer Service Ensure consistent product availability for customer needs Respond to customer questions and concerns professionally and promptly Support special requests and ensure quality standards are maintained Operational & Safety Standards Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and temperature‑control requirements Ensure safe handling of frozen product and proper equipment use Keep department inspection‑ready at all times Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and asset protection procedures Qualifications Previous grocery or retail management experience preferred Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules Ability to lift, stock, and work extended periods in freezer environments Working Conditions Frozen and refrigerated work environment with frequent lifting and standing Fast‑paced department focused on accuracy, efficiency, and execution
