Position Summary
The Frozen Manager is responsible for overseeing all frozen food department operations to ensure high standards of product availability, quality, food safety, and customer service. This role leads daily execution, manages inventory and ordering, controls shrink, and develops associates while supporting overall store performance and company goals.
Key Responsibilities Manage daily frozen department operations including stocking, rotation, ordering, and backroom organization Ensure all frozen products are handled, stored, and rotated properly following FIFO and temperature control standards Maintain in‑stock conditions, accurate inventory levels, and effective shrink control Execute company planograms, merchandising standards, promotions, and seasonal sets Monitor sales, labor, and shrink performance; adjust execution to meet department goals Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and safe working conditions Address customer questions and concerns related to frozen products promptly and professionally Partner with store leadership and other departments to support overall store operations Associate Leadership & Development Supervise, train, coach, and schedule frozen department associates Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback to support performance and accountability Promote teamwork, productivity, and a positive work environment Ensure associates are trained on food safety, equipment use, and operational standards Operational & Compliance Focus Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and health standards Complete required temperature checks, logs, and department documentation accurately Ensure proper use and maintenance of freezers, tools, and equipment Follow all safety guidelines to prevent injury and product loss Qualifications Previous frozen, grocery, or retail management experience preferred Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of inventory management and merchandising execution Effective communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills Ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment Physical & Scheduling Requirements Ability to lift and move product within company weight guidelines Ability to work in freezer environments for extended periods Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
