Frozen Food Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling through telephone calls, in‑store intercom announcements, and direct customer interaction. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to the Store Director when needed.

Department Operations & Merchandising

Rotate and discard outdated or spoiled product. Ensure cleanliness of the work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, properly displayed, and that shelves are clean and well maintained. Assist in other areas of the Grocery Department when needed. Follow and maintain all department standards and requirements.

Policy Knowledge & Compliance

Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code‑dating for all department products. Assist with physical inventory as required (typically every 6 months). Comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company policies, and code‑dating requirements. Follow and enforce all workplace safety rules and regulations. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas, coolers, equipment, and display areas. Implement emergency procedures when equipment or software malfunctions occur. Ensure compliance with company grooming standards and dress code.

Inventory, Reclamation & Shrink Control

Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels in accordance with division directives. Stock and rotate product regularly. Supervise reclamation processing. Maintain organized and in‑stock conditions in the back room and all Frozen Food Department areas. Control shrink and department‑related costs. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines.

Receiving & Administrative Responsibilities

Perform receiving duties including: Breaking down loads Verifying invoices Inspecting product quality Reporting shortages Stocking and rotating merchandise Follow appropriate temperature, storage, and packaging guidelines. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Complete, maintain, and monitor required documents such as: Daily log sheets Sales and labor reports Other required paperwork and logs

Technology & Ordering

Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to place product orders.
