Frozen Food Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Reformatted) Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in‑store intercom announcements, and direct customer interaction. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately. Receive and resolve customer complaints, escalating to the Store Director when necessary. Department Operations Rotate and remove outdated or spoiled product; ensure cleanliness of work areas and the overall department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, clean, properly displayed, and fully stocked. Follow and maintain all department standards and requirements. Ensure code‑dating compliance for all products in the department. Maintain working knowledge of company policies as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. May assist in other areas of the Grocery Department as needed. Support safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards across the department, cooler, equipment, and display areas. Implement emergency procedures in response to equipment or software malfunctions. Inventory, Merchandising & Reporting Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness; stock and rotate product per division directives. Maintain orderly, in‑stock conditions in the back room and all Frozen Food Department areas; supervise reclamation processing. Control shrink and cost. Assist with physical inventory every 6 months. Implement correct product handling and preparation techniques; operate related equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines. Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product. Follow product temperature, storage, packaging, and labeling guidelines. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Accurately complete, maintain, and monitor daily log sheets, sales and labor reports, and other required documentation. Ensure proper temperature levels for all products; comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company policies, and code‑dating standards. Technology & Systems Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product. Follow correct procedures for equipment or software malfunctions. Safety & Compliance Comply with and ensure adherence to all workplace safety rules and regulations. Ensure compliance with company grooming standards and dress code.
