Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Front Line Maintenance Manager is responsible for minimising equipment failure downtime and maximising plant availability with the objectives of the maintenance department and the site. Support the achievement of Cost, Quality, People and Service objectives, Support capital, other engineering projects and ensures all KPIs are captured and updated daily. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the days and night Shift trades’ team to ensure all maintenance is performed in a timely and professional manner. To lead execution of maintenance and reliability improvement activities across your teams. Control all engineering maintenance and reliability improvement activities carried out on the shift through a disciplined Work Order system (SAP PM). Delivery of the site maintenance program through the trade’s team ensuring SAP is updated daily. Proactively drives timely completion of all work orders, both planned and reactive. Ability to coach trades team in maintenance best practices. Improve reliability by providing technical solutions and improvements to repetitive, ‘one-off’, or design-out problems associated with manufacturing assets. Pro-actively promotes and drives ‘Continuous Improvement’ concepts and principles in all areas of manufacturing and engineering (e.g. improved NE, MTBF, MTTR) Identifies and delivers engineering productivity savings through implementation of best practise techniques and methodology. To ensure budgetary control across maintenance activities in line with the sites R&M AOP. Coordinate the use of subcontractors and external resources as required to address site needs that extend beyond the capabilities of the maintenance trades teams Ensure occupational and environmental safety standards are always maintained and improved where possible. Liaise closely and maintain effective communication with other departments across all shifts to ensure the highest possible level of maintenance effectiveness. Willingness to flex/change hours and shifts to suit business needs. Qualifications About you: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree or Minimum Trade recognised. Ability to guide and support trades on technical issues in an FMCG environment Demonstrated proven leadership of large mechanical and electrical trades teams Ability to effectively prioritise competing work activities Demonstrated experience in industrial high volume/high speed manufacturing processes Ability to maintain performance under pressure Proven ability to relate effectively with a broad range of levels and disciplines Proven ability to analyse issues and to develop effective solutions Effective oral and written communication skills Interpersonal skills which foster the trust, cooperation, and support of others About us: We are a progressive and people-focused business and believe our diverse workforce is the key to our success.
