Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 6-10 months unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are complete. Please note: this position is based in Monroe, CT.

The Logistics Assistant is responsible for supporting logistical operations.  NBC Sports is seeking various levels of experience in the areas of Technical Logistics and Production Logistics.

Responsibilities:

Warehousing, logistics and facility material handling, picking, packing and shipping, moving equipment pallets, boxesSupport Logistics department with asset tracking and inventory controlAssist with shipping and receiving mail, packages and freight. Activities may include loading/unloading trucks, material handling, and prepping/wrapping/strapping goods for shippingAssist with inventorying by working on a PC and scanning technical equipment, supplies, furniture, wardrobe, cable, & moreAssist with security screening goodsAssist with receiving supplies and tracking purchase ordersPhysically demanding position, must be able to lift at least 30 poundsSupport all customers with a high level of service and supportAdditional responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe work environment including breaking down boxes, picking up and disposing of trash and wasteDistributes office and non-technical supplies using custom online ordering systemSupports internal and external customers

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft WindowsAbility to operate forklift or other MHE, training provided if necessaryHigh level of attention to detailAbility to interface with all levels of staff and internal customersAbility to work individually as well as with a teamStrong team player and collaboratorDetail and deadline orientedPossesses a strong work ethic

Desired Characteristics:

Basic knowledge of broadcast or production logistics or related preferred Possess a high level of initiative, strong customer service skills and interpersonal skillsPrior experience/knowledge of material handling equipment including forklifts
