A leading organization in the Springfield, MA area is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting. This role partners with business leaders to provide insights that drive strong financial performance. Candidates with insurance or healthcare payer experience are strongly preferred, though not required.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of annual budgets and recurring forecasts.Collaborate with business units to gather assumptions and validate financial input.Monitor financial performance against plan and highlight emerging trends.Build and enhance financial models for scenario planning, cost analysis, and strategic initiatives.Perform margin, variance, and trend analysis across key business areas.Conduct ad hoc financial deep dives to support leadership decision making.Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for senior leadership.Analyze actuals vs. budget and provide clear, data-driven commentary.Develop dashboards and KPIs to measure operational and financial performance.Work cross-functionally with Operations, Accounting, Actuarial, and other internal teams.Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.Support business cases and ROI evaluations for new initiatives or investments.Recommend and implement improvements to forecasting, reporting, and financial planning tools.Support system enhancements and ensure data integrity across sources.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.3+ years of FP&A, financial analysis, or corporate finance experience.Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.Exceptional analytical, communication, and business partnering abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with dashboards (Power BI preferred).Insurance industry experience (health plan, payer, or related) is a strong nice to have.Work EnvironmentHybrid schedule requiring onsite presence 3 days per week in Springfield, MA, and remote work 2 days per week. Typical working hours are 8am-5pm. This role is a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of conversion to permanent employment. The position offers an opportunity to join a large insurance company within Western Massachusetts.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $56.00 - $76.00/hr.
