Position Description:

 

Barrick is looking for a Drilling Supervisor to join the Fourmile Project team.  The successful candidate will work with various stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure that all drilling programs are executed according to plan and in compliance with all Barrick Safety and Health, Contractor Management and Environmental policies and applicable regulatory agency guidelines.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Review project scopes of work and support drill planningProvide technical advice on the suitability of proposed drilling methods to achieve project objectivesEnsure applicable permits are in place before work beginsEnsure drill sites are constructed within design parameters and ready for occupancy and that drill rigs are property set upProvide detailed daily activity reportingAccurately reports status updates on hole conditions, sample quality and recovery and delays to drillingLiaise with Exploration, MRM and Mine Operations personnel and other stakeholders as neededEnsure all down hole surveys are performed to client specificationsInspect and audit all equipment and laydown areasManage inventory of consumablesParticipate in contractor safety meetings and incident investigationsConduct daily interactions with drill contractors to ensure proper execution 

 

Qualifications:

 

Five (5) years of experience with exploration drilling with specific technical knowledge of air rotary, core drilling and directional techniquesExperienced in contract management  Strong commitment to achieving zero accidents and citationsGood communication skills and problem solving skillsExperience with computer software (MS Office)  Familiarity and understanding of exploration process Proven safety recordAbility to interact effectively with all levels of expertise and management   Schedule and job location flexibility
