Job Description
As a Formwork Carpenter, you will work on commercial formwork projects, reporting to the Superintendent. You are expected to work independently while leading laborers and apprentices. Your daily duties will include building and stripping forms, constructing hoardings, tying rebar, and utilizing hand and power tools.
ResponsibilitiesConstruct, erect, install, and strip formwork systems.Form footings, pile caps, grade beams, slabs, and other concrete structures.Install anchor bolts and embedded steel for concrete pours.Build hoardings and frame temporary shelters when required.Tie rebar, pour, and finish concrete.Proficiently use hand tools.Ensure that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.Work primarily in town, with some out-of-town projects expected (10% out of town with a $50 per diem available).Adapt to long days and occasional overnight shifts based on project deadlines.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years of concrete formwork experience.CSTS-20 with WHIMIS certification.Ability to read and use a tape measure.Capability to lift 50 lbs regularly.Experience with Camlock forms and concrete finishing.Additional Skills & QualificationsCrew lead experience.Fall protection and confined space training certificates.Ability to layout and install concrete rebar.Rough carpentry skills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
You will work in a supportive, family-like team environment, with project teams ranging from 2 to over 20 members. You will report to the site foreman and may be responsible for directing laborers. The work schedule starts at 7:00 am and ends around 5:00 pm, with overtime common during the busy season. Expect to work 50-60 hours per week, with overtime accumulated after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. Projects are located outdoors, requiring work in various weather conditions suitable for concrete pouring.
