Forklift Operator
Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob Description

We are seeking skilled forklift operators to join our team in either the Production Department or the Warehouse Department. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products throughout our operations.

ResponsibilitiesUnload raw materials from incoming trucks, including vegetables, barrels, and palletized goods.Load finished product pallets onto outbound trucks.Break down pallets into smaller orders manually, up to 25 lbs.Pick, stage, and load customer orders, completing required shipping documents.Refill pick lanes, perform cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory.Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and aligned with FIFO practices.Deliver raw materials from the warehouse to production lines.Move finished goods from production to warehouse staging areas.Record and report material usage for each work order.Receive inbound loads and verify quantities against purchase orders.Assist with line support, including hose use and equipment cleaning.Conduct daily production counts and store finished goods using FIFO.Safely operate forklifts, clamps, bin dumpers, and barrel dumpers.Support yard operations, including loading and unloading trailers.Cross-train across machine centers and production support roles.Perform equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all safety and GMP standards.Work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.Essential SkillsMinimum 2 years of forklift experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.Ability to obtain and maintain company forklift certification.Ability to read production schedules and part numbers accurately.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.Knowledgeable with sit-down forklifts, both gas and electric.Familiarity with SAP System and inventory processes.Forklift safety is a must.Additional Skills & QualificationsCurrent forklift certification preferred.Experience in food manufacturing or other regulated environments.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced food production environment where employees are on their feet all day performing repetitive, hands-on tasks. Floors can be wet due to vegetable juices, so comfort with getting wet during the shift is necessary. The facility follows strict GMP standards, including mandatory handwashing, wearing of hairnets/beard nets and blue smocks, and restrictions on nails, lashes, nail polish, jewelry, and cell phones. The production area has strong odors from vinegar, pepperoncini, jalapeños, and olives, while the warehouse has lighter odors. A very high Spanish-speaking environment, so comfort in working in such an environment is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of American Canyon, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.71 - $23.71/hr.
