Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

Join a dynamic team at a Cross-Dock facility as a Forklift Operator, where you will spend approximately 95% of your time on a forklift and the remaining 5% hand bombing freight. Your duties will include reading printed manifests to strip and load trailers. A strong understanding of LTL practices and proficient forklift skills are essential to avoid damaging freight or trucks. You will be operating a Sit-down Counterbalance Forklift, primarily a Toyota Electric (3-wheel) and occasionally a Toyota Propane.

Responsibilities

Operate a Sit-down Counterbalance Forklift effectively and safely.Read printed manifests to accurately strip and load trailers.Handle a variety of products, including fragile items, ensuring no damage.Work efficiently in a Cross-Dock environment.Communicate effectively with team members and drivers.Take ownership and rectify mistakes promptly to prevent a domino effect in logistics.

Essential Skills

Minimum 1-2 years of Sitdown Forklift experience.3rd Party Forklift Certification.TDG and WHMIS Certification.1-2 years of LTL (Less than Truckload) / Cross-Dock experience.Strong reading and writing skills for reading BOLs and transcripts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Pre-employment required.Experience with shipping & receiving paperwork.Past paperwork experience on dock is a plus.Having a car is ideal due to transit accessibility.

Work in a fast-paced transportation freight company located in the Northwest Industrial Park region of Edmonton

The facility handles a diverse range of products, requiring attention to detail and responsibility.

Shift hours are Monday-Friday, 11:30am-8:00/9:00pm, depending on volumes

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
