Job Title: Forklift Operator

Payrate: $22 to $25 per hour

Shift: 6am - 4pm, M-F

Job Description

As a Receiver, you will be responsible for understanding lumber and millwork codes and specifications, as well as the various species of lumber. You will ensure the accuracy of orders by questioning any obvious errors with the receiving lead and by verifying that backorders are noted clearly and accurately. You will pull and stack orders securely, mark them correctly with order numbers and job names, and ensure all paperwork is kept secure. Additionally, you will maintain a clean work area and report any equipment issues promptly.

Responsibilities

Understand lumber and millwork codes and specifications.Identify and question obvious errors on orders with the receiving lead.Pull and stack orders securely to prevent them from falling.Mark all orders clearly with the order number and job name.Verify that backorders are noted in a clear and accurate manner.Ensure paperwork is secure and not lost, defaced, or spoiled.Verify that orders are filled correctly, completely, and on time.Keep up with stocking material for order completion.Understand equipment for maintenance purposes and report issues immediately.Maintain a clean and debris-free shop area.

Essential Skills

Experience in picking orders, packing, inventory control, accuracy, and tracking.Ability to operate a forklift and move items at least 6 feet in width.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs regularly.Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.Understanding of units of measurement.

Work Environment

The position is based in a warehouse production environment, where you may be exposed to sawdust or other wood products. The role requires regularly lifting heavy materials.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
