**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking a diligent and skilled Forklift Operator to support our production operations by managing inventory, handling shipments, and ensuring smooth logistics. The ideal candidate will proficiently operate stand-up and counterbalance fork trucks, as well as company trucks, to facilitate inventory transactions and deliveries. **Responsibilities** + Issue and deliver inventory to support production operations. + Transfer inventory items between locations as needed. + Utilize the NLPI inventory management system to accurately account for inventory transactions, receipts, and shipments. + Count and audit inventory when required. + Receive items from vendors and sub-contractors, delivering to appropriate locations. + Prepare items for shipping and load products for onward shipment. + Assist in coordinating shipments with marketing and handle bills of lading. + Complete related inventory, receiving, and shipping documents accurately. + Follow all work instructions and quality requirements. + Ensure all safety rules are adhered to. + Note any discrepancies or damage in shipments or incoming goods. + Train new operators when necessary. + Organize and maintain work areas for efficiency and cleanliness. + Perform other related duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in operating stand-up and counterbalance fork trucks. + Experience in inventory management and material handling. + Ability to drive both sit-down and stand-up reach trucks. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Strong organizational skills. + Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. + Specific vision abilities including close vision. **Why Work Here?** Our company offers consistent working hours and a supportive environment with many experienced individuals in supervisor and lead roles. The role involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, with a usually moderate noise level. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
