Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

This position offers a contract until July 18, with a high likelihood of extension and potential for contract-to-hire. As a forklift operator, you will play a crucial role in supporting production by ensuring materials are readily available on the production floor. Your tasks will include staging ingredients, managing inventory, and preparing pallets for loading. The role may involve varied responsibilities depending on daily needs, such as general labor or assisting with shipping preparation.

ResponsibilitiesSupport production by retrieving materials for the production floor.Stage ingredients and flour as needed.Receive internally finished goods from the packaging department and transport them to cooler or freezer storage.Occasionally assist with external shipping and receiving as required.Ensure production is consistently stocked with necessary materials to prevent delays.Operate forklifts, power riders, and pump jacks.Prepare pallets for loading, including shrink wrapping and stacking.Manage inventory in various refrigerators and freezers.Perform general labor duties.Essential SkillsValid SDCB ticket and power pallet jack ticket.Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing facility's warehouse.Minimum of 1 year experience operating SDCB forklift and in food production.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with a 5 tonne forklift.Experience in a food manufacturing facility warehouse.Rider pallet jack ticket (class 2).2+ years of relevant experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position operates within a food manufacturing facility characterized by a fast-paced environment with numerous conveyors and machines running continuously. The temperature is maintained between 8-10 degrees Celsius. The warehouse is compact, requiring operators to be confident and cautious while using forklifts. The dress code includes steel toe work boots and prohibits jewelry, nail polish, and fake eyelashes due to food safety concerns. It is a nut-free facility, accommodating those with allergies. Working hours are from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts.
