**Description**
**Vegetation Forester/Arborist**
**Essential Functions & Responsibilities:**
+ Assigns work for individual crew members for carry out work according to accepted line clearance practices.
+ Must be capable of adjusting to field requirements to take independent action without close supervision.
+ Follows safe work practices and enforces safe work practices with crew members.
+ Maintains accurate records, timesheets and reports. Periodically furnishes reports on incidents and private property damage.
+ Controls crew costs, including effective use of manpower, work methods, operation of equipment, etc.
+ Keeps informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations/policies and practices.
+ In emergency situations, determines action to be taken to eliminate hazards to life and safety.
+ Assist in investigating and recommending future ROW maintenance requirements
+ Inspect and assess customer requests for tree pruning or removals.
+ Performs other duties as required.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ Able to:
+ work and retain access to all assets, including but not limited to substations, ROW’s, facilities, vehicles and equipment.
+ safely drive an approved company vehicle.
+ enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
+ operate and service all required tools and equipment.
+ Must have transportation to and from the show up location.
+ Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
+ Must be willing to join the local union & pay union dues.
**Education & Experience**
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
**Pre-Screen**
+ Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
**License & Certifications:**
+ Valid driver's license required.
+ ISA Certification is preferred.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ **RARE** (up to 10%): climbing ladders, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ **OCCASIONAL** (up to 33%): balancing
+ **FREQUENT** (up to 66 %): standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, crawling, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant, climbing on/off truck, climbing poles, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., seeing, reading, reaching, range of motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 10 lbs.
