How would you like to join Technorm, a part of J.S. Held’s multidisciplinary team? Our main pride is our professional and renowned architects, building engineers and experts in building codes and standards. Are you passionate about building codes? Are you looking for a stimulating and motivating work environment? We are offering a unique position: an architect that will grow in our Civil, Construction and Structure team.

 

Your responsibilities:

investigate on the origin and cause of damages to the building envelope;lead investigations about applicable regulations to the building in the context of litigation;analyze different components found in sites where there has been a flood, fire, etc.;take in charge meticulous and rigorous research about regulatory requirements;analyze documentation received in order to establish what information is pertinent to the investigation;make use of your writing skills to issue clear and precise technical reports;schedule meetings with clients and other professionals to get supplementary information about the project when needed;issue different types of reports (verbal, email, short, long, extensive) for the court of law and forward them to the clients through specific procedures;testify as an expert in a court of law when needed;actively collaborate with your team to improve processes, methods and work tools;transmit the company’s values through your conduct, with the team and with your clients, as well as in your day-to-day actions.

Qualificationsa master’s degree in architecture and an interest for the technic aspect of architecturea minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in forensic expertisea membership to the Ordre des Architectes du Québeca valid card granting you access to worksitesthe ability to communicate, by writing and speaking, in French and Englishan interest in reading and researching information about building engineering casesthe ability and interest to communicate and vulgarize technical termsa vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel around Montreal, its surroundings and occasionally across the province
