The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Foreman - Processing.

About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent -Processing, the Foreman-Processing is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the autoclave, CIL, CIP, Paste Plant and Waste Treatment circuits leading a team of operator, process technicians and specialists to deliver reliable production performance while upholding the highest standards of process safety and environmental compliance. This role requires hands-on autoclave and CIL/CIP operational experience, a strong understanding of high-pressure and chemical process safety, and the ability to drive positive change in work practices, team culture, and plant performance. A key accountability of this role is the development and training of employees, ensuring the transfer of technical knowledge and building long-term operational capability within the workforce.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the autoclave, leaching, paste and waste treatment circuits, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production. Apply strong process safety principles to identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. Manage and coordinate contractor activities to ensure safe execution of work within budget and schedule. Monitor and control operating costs, ensuring cost-effective use of consumables, reagents, and resources. Provide hands-on training, coaching, and mentoring for local and national staff, developing technical capability and leadership skills within the team. Lead shift teams to achieve production and recovery targets, ensuring adherence to SOPs and best practices. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and operational excellence. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and metallurgical performance standards. Report on production, safety performance, and workforce development outcomes to the Superintendent/Area Manager. Contribute to operator training programs, competency assessments, and continuous skills development. Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures,

About you

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:

A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field. 3 years' experience in a similar role Solid operational experience in mineral processing Strong data analysis and problem -solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
