Footwear Designer - Street
Under the direction of the Sr. Design Director, design and develop innovative and cost-efficient brand and market relevant footwear for the Skechers Street Divisions (SST, MST). Work within the cross-functional category team to create a line from concept to reality.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES-

Create - In collaboration with the Design and Product Line management, create innovative product designs that appeal to targeted consumers. Contribute to seasonal creative strategy for products and line segments. Partner with Design, Product Line Management, and Product Development to focus product designs for market success. Actively seek expert input to develop appropriate designs with regards to cost/value, fit and performance, manufacturability, merchandising, and aesthetic finish.Communication - Present and communicate visual concept solutions to product briefs. Work with design team to produce and present materials effectively. Proficient in the creation of tech packs and outsole blueprints, including cross sections. Encourages communication and feedback. Fosters group decision making, participation, and consensus.Execute – Finalize tech packages and proactively follow the execution of all product details: construction, color, form, style, detail, fit, and cost. Review all tech packages and communicate changes to Asia development partners. Deliver on-time product solutions in conjunction with the product calendar and business needs ensuring that all deadlines, line plans, and deliverables are met.Consumer – Utilize knowledge of category specific consumers and culture to improve product performance and appearance. Study and research current and future trends, maintain expert knowledge in global design trends, market competition, and retail landscape. Conduct on and off-site to bring new ideas to the brand.Multi-Tasking – Make the most efficient use of time, usually managing numerous projects simultaneously. Skilled organizer who plans effectively and moves with agility from one task to another. Prioritizes according to top needs. Flexible when special projects are assigned.Travel - Periodic travel to Asia to for product development. Periodic travel for market and trend research.Professional Development – Proactively work with Design management and Senior Designers to advance and build professional skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

Ability to sketch shoes accurately and proportionately & provide detailed specifications.Must understand the footwear production process at the factory level.Must have advanced skills in Photoshop/IllustratorMust have great communication/presentation skills and work well with others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

Preferably a bachelor’s degree in Footwear, Fashion or Graphic Design.Should have a minimum of 4-6 years of shoe designing experience and knowledge of shoe constructions and materials.

The pay range for this position is $130,000-$150,000.
