Job Description:

The Food Services Cold Food Prep team member displays and serves a variety of products in a high-volume setting or may assist with the Patient Food Services team. Responsible for setup, breakdown, and sanitation of all Food Court and/or Patient Services serving areas while ensuring high quality food served at the appropriate temperature. Rotation of all cold and hot food required during restocking, whether in the Food court, or in the patient refrigerators for cold food holding. Knowledge of diets and allergies sufficient to serve patient meals accurately, or to answer guest questions in the Food Court.

 

Job Specific Duties:

Working knowledge of food preparation, serving and portion standards. Demonstrates working knowledge of modified diets, proper condiments, and related restrictions for diets, including allergies and preferences. Working knowledge of infection prevention and sanitation with food temperatures, refrigeration temperatures, dating of foods, equipment cleaning, hand washing, use of gloves and proper personal protective equipment. Ensures setup, breakdown and sanitation of all required serving areas while ensuring high quality food served at the appropriate temperature. Plans, provides and maintains a safe environment for patients, staff and families. Plate presentation following department standards. Proper rotation during restocking line to ensure high quality and appropriate temperature. Work is completed according to established procedures, policies and protocols. Must maintain a clean and organized workspace and cleanliness standards. Must maintain daily HACCP logs.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Six months experience in the following: hospitality, healthcare, or customer service. Ability to follow basic oral/written instructions in English (for the safety of our patients and staff in an emergency situation). Preferred Education: HS Diploma/GED not required.
