Under the supervision of the Food Services Manager or Assistant Food Services Manager, performs varied tasks in the operation and serving of foods; maintains food service equipment and facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; and performs related duties as assigned. Read and understand English at a level necessary to accurately prepare and serve food; lift and carry moderately heavy containers of food; push and pull food carts; stand for prolonged periods; count, add, and subtract; understand and carry out written and oral instructions; and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those encountered during the course of work. Basic cleaning and sanitation practices related to the cooking and serving of food; the proper methods for lifting heavy objects safely; the basic rule of safety when working around machinery and cleaning supplies; and interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.

School Nutrition Association certification, Los Angeles County food handlers or ServSafe certification required during the probation period. Some positions may require a California Driver License, proof of insurance and a current Department of Motor Vehicles printout This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time positions working 3 hours per day, 9 months per year and to fill a substitute list.
