We’re seeking a Food Service Assistant III – Host/Hostess to join our Nutrition Services team at Wilmington Hospital. In this vital role, you’ll be the friendly, caring face delivering meals to patients, ensuring their dietary needs are met with accuracy and empathy.

Position Details

Title: Food Service Assistant III (Host/Hostess)Location: Wilmington HospitalType: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Schedule & Hours

Business Hours: 5:30 AM – 7:30 PMHostess Shifts: 10 hoursPrimary Shifts: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM & 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM; other shifts may vary based on department needs.Weekend & Holiday Rotation Required

What You’ll DoDeliver meals tailored to therapeutic diets and patient preferencesCollect and process patient menu selections and diet ordersModify menus based on dietary guidelines and restrictionsProvide compassionate, attentive service to patients and familiesCollaborate with clinical and dietary teams to ensure safety and satisfaction

What You BringHigh school diploma or equivalent required.6+ months of food service experience (preferred)ServSafe certification (preferred)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to read diet orders and perform basic mathComfortable using iPads and basic computer systems

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout your shiftMust pass a physical exam and drug screeningComfortable working in patient care areas and around cleaning supplies

This position has a starting rate of $18.08 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.15 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.18 per hour.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
