At Factor in Verden, we’re expanding our Quality Team and looking for a passionate professional in food safety and hygiene. In this role, you’ll help ensure that all internal and external standards for food safety and hygiene are met in our ready-to-eat (RTE) production environment. With a risk-based mindset, you’ll develop monitoring plans for both products and the production environment – and keep a close eye on process hygiene to maintain the highest levels of quality and safety.
Your area of responsibility You develop and are responsible for a risk-based microbiological testing plan that covers pathogens as well as product, process, and environmental hygiene and is implemented within the plant With your expertise, you ensure compliance with all legal requirements and GFSI standards (IFS / BRC) in the area of microbiological monitoring As the main point of contact for food microbiology and process hygiene, you maintain close communication with laboratories, authorities, and internal stakeholders, coordinating all relevant matters You organize sample collection, oversee the proper shipment to external laboratories, and identify potential deviations early on through continuous trend analysis When deviations occur, you take the lead in conducting root cause analyses, initiating appropriate corrective actions, and verifying their effectiveness You are also responsible for validating and verifying cleaning processes, working closely with the external cleaning service provider to ensure consistently high cleaning standards You actively contribute to the HACCP team, conduct shelf-life studies independently, and take part in cross-functional quality improvement projects while engaging in regular knowledge exchange with national and international FSQA colleagues to continuously enhance product quality Your profile Degree in food technology, food chemistry, or a comparable field of study with a focus on food microbiology, along with at least three years of professional experience in a food processing environment, ideally including laboratory work Solid knowledge of legal requirements according to Regulation (EC) No. 2073/2005 and DGHM guidelines, as well as experience with hygiene standards in the production of ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat products Proven experience in preparing for and supporting certification audits (IFS/BRC) and in implementing the associated standard requirements Proficient in developing and implementing risk-based microbiological monitoring plans, with a strong understanding of hygiene-relevant production processes Strong interest in operational workflows and continuous improvement of processes and structures, combined with a hands-on mentality Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style, with a high level of learning agility and the ability to work in an agile and results-driven manner Fluent in both German and English (business level), with strong MS Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint), and excellent teamwork and communication skills What we offer you Modern and comfortable working space with great co-workers in Verden Discount for Factor_-boxes Development possibilities along with internal trainings and a central Learning & Development budget for teams Extensive Onboarding Competitive salary and shift allowances 30 days of vacations Social events Discounted fitness offers Well-being initiatives in cooperation with Headspace and Spill Company pension scheme Monthly allowance for the Deutschlandticket Personal safety equipment
