Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Microbiology Lab Technician to perform essential laboratory prep work, including the preparation of solutions and conducting various microbiological tests. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art Innovation Center with long-term growth potential. Responsibilities + Perform basic laboratory preparation work including making solutions of peptone and buffers for swabs. + Conduct plating and streaking of microbiological samples. + Pick up supplies and samples from the plant as needed. + Perform tests such as pipetting, preparing agar with hot plates, autoclaving, sterilization, sanitation, and plate counts for yeast, mold, and lactic bacteria. + Enter data accurately into Excel spreadsheets. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related science field. + Strong understanding of aseptic, plating, and streaking techniques. + Proficient in using Petri films, performing plating, and operating autoclaves. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Background in microbiology, laboratory procedures, and biology is highly beneficial. + Experience with pH and viscosity measurements is a plus. Work Environment The role is based in a micro lab with a small team of three. The laboratory is compact, offering a few desk spaces. The work schedule is business casual, first shift from Monday to Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WESTERVILLE, OH.
