We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Food and Inventory Operations Assistant to support the daily operations of our food service team. This role is essential in ensuring the proper receipt, storage, and inventory management of food and supplies, as well as maintaining cleanliness and readiness in key operational areas. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to work collaboratively with culinary and operations staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and inspect all food deliveries to verify that items match invoices, meet quality standards, and are held at appropriate temperatures. Report discrepancies or quality issues with deliveries to management or vendors promptly. Store inventory items in designated areas while practicing proper rotation (FIFO) to maintain freshness and minimize waste. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas, including walk-in’s, dry storage, and other areas. Assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks. Assist with conducting monthly physical inventory and inputting data into inventory management systems. Support the culinary team with basic food preparation tasks when time permits. Maintain cleanliness and accessibility of all handwashing stations, ensuring they are stocked with soap and paper towels. Monitor and restock paper goods and cleaning chemicals to ensure consistent availability for operational needs. Other needs as required.Qualifications:
Prior experience in a food service or inventory management role preferred. Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Prior culinary prep work is desirable. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift and move inventory items up to 50lbs. as needed.Benefits:
