Essential Job Functions
· Contribute to the overall mission and strategic goals of the organization by supporting quality, innovation, and efficiency in Flow Cytometry operations.
· Lead the research, design, and validation of new assays and workflows; recommend testing platforms and protocols to expand or optimize in-house capabilities.
· Write, review, and maintain technical procedures in alignment with current regulatory standards and evolving industry practices.
· Assist with instrument configuration, software implementation, and LIS build to support efficient and accurate data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
· Develop and deliver training programs and competency assessments to ensure staff proficiency in technical methods and instrumentation.
· Collaborate with department leadership to monitor and improve quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory readiness across testing sites.
· Troubleshoot complex technical issues involving assays, reagents, or instrumentation and provide expert-level support to technologists.
· Participate in cross-site standardization efforts, process improvement initiatives (LEAN, Six Sigma), and system-wide projects to streamline operations.
· Serve as a consultant and technical liaison to pathologists, clinicians, and other departments regarding flow cytometry applications and results.
· Contribute to financial evaluations of testing processes, instrumentation, and reagents; identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.
· Support reagent and inventory management, including documentation, production of antibody cocktails, and quality oversight of consumables and instrumentation.
· Maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability in all interactions and responsibilities, ensuring a culture of safety, service, and excellence

Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science or higher from an accredited MT, MLT or clinical laboratory science program.
· 2 years’ of flow cytometry experience including but not limited to quality control, maintenance, and operation of flow cytometry equipment.
· Strong background in instrument setup, compensation, acquisition template optimization, and data analysis.
· Proficient in troubleshooting technical issues related to instrumentation and assay performance.
· Experience with QC, QA, and preventative maintenance of flow cytometry instrumentation.
· Skilled in writing technical procedures and workflow documentation.
· Ability to train and mentor staff effectively in a collaborative team environment.
· Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and laboratory information systems.
· Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
· Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
· 4 years experience of hands on ≥5-color leukemia/lymphoma panels immunophenotyping assay development.
· ASCP SCYM certification
· Experience with Beckman Coulter Navios platform.
· Familiarity with Kaluza or similar flow cytometry analysis software
· Previous hematology experience including morphology review
· Advanced degree or additional certifications relevant to the field Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances (please add any additional requirements)
· Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
· Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
· Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
