Job Summary
The Floral Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Floral Department. This role ensures high standards of product quality, visual presentation, customer service, inventory management, and associate development while driving sales and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
Lead, coach, train, and develop Floral Department associates. Schedule labor effectively to meet business needs, seasonal demands, and productivity goals. Provide ongoing performance feedback and support associate growth and engagement. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety‑focused workplace environment.Operations & Merchandising
Oversee daily floral operations, including ordering, receiving, processing, and care of floral products. Ensure attractive, fresh, and well‑maintained floral displays in accordance with company merchandising standards. Execute seasonal programs, promotions, and holiday floral events. Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and promotional execution.Product Quality & Care
Ensure proper handling, storage, rotation, and maintenance of all floral products. Monitor product freshness and remove damaged or outdated inventory promptly. Maintain department cleanliness and organization to preserve product quality and presentation.Financial & Inventory Management
Manage inventory levels to support sales while minimizing shrink and spoilage. Monitor sales, shrink, and margin reports to identify opportunities for improvement. Control department expenses, labor hours, and ordering within established targets.Customer Service
Deliver an exceptional customer experience through friendly, knowledgeable service. Assist customers with floral selections, custom arrangements, and special orders. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and company policies. Maintain compliance with sanitation, handling, and operational procedures. Support loss prevention initiatives and shrink reduction strategies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of floral operations, product care, and merchandising best practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment. Basic proficiency in computer systems and retail technology tools. Ability to motivate teams and drive accountability and results. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous retail floral, merchandising, or department leadership experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40–50 pounds regularly. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak floral seasons.
