Floral Department Specialist

POSITION Summary: 

The Floral Department Specialist provides advanced administrative, operation, and analytical support to the Floral desk. This role requires strong knowledge of Floral Operations, proficiency in Microsoft programs, and the ability to manage complex records, reports, and projects. The position services as a key resource to Floral leadership, supports departmental decision-making, and assists with workflow oversight and staff support. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assist with total store customer service functions related to the Floral Department.  Respond to inquiries requiring specialized knowledge of Floral operations and procedures. Act as a liaison between Floral and other departments or divisions.  Collect, compile and analyze data for department reports, projects and business reviews. Create, maintain and update reports, graphs and data comparisons.  Ensure accuracy by reviewing, balancing and validating data.  Maintain complex records, files, and documents such as prebooks, financial records, invoices, Firm Orders, and PO’s.  Process department documents that require specific knowledge of Floral functions.  Examine and prioritize documents to determine appropriate actions and ensure timely completion.  Answer department emails and route inquiries appropriately.  Coordinate special programs, department initiatives, and approved procedure changes. 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

Strong knowledge of Floral Operations and retail processes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.  Strong organizational, analytical, and attention-to-details skills.  Ability to manage confidential and financial information.  Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

Preferred

Experience supporting a Floral, perishable or Retail Operations desk.  Experience coordination reports, projects, or departmental initiatives. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 

Limited travel may be required to support Floral operations, initiatives, training or store execution.  Travel is primarily local and as business needs arise, with the majority of work performed from the office.  Store visits are intended to support collaboration, execution and operational alignment. 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:  

Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal. Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
