The Floor Tech is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment in a skilled nursing facility. This role plays a critical part in infection control and resident satisfaction by ensuring all areas of the facility meet high cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities:Floor care
Stripping and waxing floors
Buffing and polishing floors
Carpet cleaning and extraction
Mopping and sweeping
Scrubbing and refinishing
Floor maintenance and restoration
Hard surface care
Equipment operation (auto scrubber, buffer, burnisher)
Preventive maintenance
Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Physical ability to perform housekeeping tasks (e.g., lifting up to 30 lbs, standing, walking, bending, reaching).
Knowledge of or willingness to learn infection control and sanitation procedures.
Dependable, responsible, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Work Environment:Exposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, and potential infectious materials.
Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as required.
