Job Location: Calgary, AB

Position Type: Full-Time

Shift Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week)

Compensation: $43.09/hr

The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for one (1) full-time Fleet & Yard Mechanic to join our fast-paced team at our Calgary, Alberta office. This role is responsible for:

Provide onsite truck & trailer repairs in the Calgary yard for company equipmentKnowledge of chassis mechanics of trucks, trailers & containers Inspect and diagnose truck & trailer issues quickly and repair immediate need itemsPerforming general truck & trailer repairs on air brakes, electrical components and hydraulic systems, doors, landing gear etc.  Experience with refrigeration and/or tailgate repairs an assetPerform steel / aluminum welding (Stick/Mig/Tig) as requiredConduct annual safety inspectionsOutline all parts used and input comments into the work order (complaint, cause and correction) regarding the repairInspect entire vehicle and ensure repairs are completeNotify Fleet Co-ordinator of any additional repairs requiredParticipate in formal and informal training sessionsHelp with accident investigationsMajority of work to be done outside, must be willing to work in adverse weather conditionsPerform other maintenance duties as required

What you need to be successful in the role:

Provincial Alberta Heavy Equipment or Truck and Coach Technician Certification, or interprovincial designation from other province2-5 years’ of prior work experience as a TechnicianPrior experience working on trucks, trailers & containers an assetSteel / aluminum welding experience (Stick/Mig/Tig) an assetKnowledgeable with air brakes and electrical diagnostics Valid class 5 driver’s license requiredMust have suitable tools or willingness to purchase prior to hireAble to use current technology to ensure vehicle safety and performanceDetail oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environmentMechanically inclinedInterested in the transportation industrySafety mindedStrong customer focusProactive attitude and takes initiative to prevent issuesWell-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team memberAn opportunity to contribute to the company by continually making improvements and resolving issuesGood verbal and written communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skillsWillingness to learn new skills
