Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Fleet Operations Manager will lead the Orange, TX fleet operations and optimize our company's
vehicle fleet operations. The Fleet Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects
of fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, safety compliance, driver management, and cost
control. This position will have direct supervision of all delivery specialists and wastewater drivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.Ensure Delivery Specialist Driver Qualifications (DQ) are in compliance with JJ Keller for both the Orange site and other North American sitesUse PeopleNet to review and enforce Hours of Service (HOS) records for Delivery Specialists in both the Orange site and other North American sitesEnsure efficient training of new hires and refresher training of Delivery SpecialistsEnsure the required customer credentials are maintained for each Delivery SpecialistCoordinate/conduct interviews for open Delivery Specialist vacanciesResponsible for time and attendance management, performance reviews and conflict resolution for employees within assigned departmentMaintain maintenance and inspection records for all tractors and trailersCoordinate the preventative maintenance and repair scheduling between the plant and repair shopsOversee new equipment additions to the fleet (trailers & tractors)Oversee/coordinate flow meter calibrations on fleet equipment per ISO standardsPerform root cause analysis (RCA) for any abnormal situationLead 5S/Lean initiatives related to the Orange Fleet with potential to roll out improvements to other North American sitesConduct monthly Delivery Specialist Meetings including EHS training requirementsInteract with corporate Fleet schedulers to ensure safe and efficient route planningInteract with repair shops to reduce equipment downtime and fleet expensesInteract/participate in best practice sharing across other NAM plantsThis list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the site

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

5-7 years of management experience supporting an operational function area in supply chain, whether in logistics, shop operations, distribution, etc.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in logistics management from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years working with hazardous materials High standard of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance   Experience creating and analyzing KPIsLean / Six Sigma process improvement methodologies, or equivalent quality trainingUnderstanding of basic fleet management principles/practicesDemonstrated understanding of department of transportation rules/regulationsKnowledge of applicable state and federal regulations while transporting hazardous materialsSkilled in fostering fleet management supplier relationshipsAbility to analyze, evaluate, improve and document processes and proceduresAbility to maintain focus in an environment subject to constant change and tight deadlinesProficient with MS Office applications and SAPExcellent communication and documentation skillsDemonstrated analytical skills and ability to solve problems with creative ideasNegotiation and influence skillsOrganizational and prioritization skillsProject management experience
