**Job Title: Fleet Technician** **Job Description** The Fleet Technician position is vital for maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles to ensure the safety of drivers. This experienced role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, managing parts inventory, and performing preventative maintenance inspections. Technicians will collaborate with entry-level mechanics and interact with various drivers, contributing to the overall efficiency of fleet operations. **Responsibilities** + Maintain and repair fleet vehicles to ensure driver safety. + Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on various vehicle systems. + Manage parts inventory and charge parts and labor to work orders. + Assist entry-level mechanics with difficult repairs. + Build relationships with vendors for parts and labor estimates. + Interact with drivers, including professional truck drivers and salespeople. + Schedule and prioritize work effectively. + Perform preventative maintenance inspections. + Work on brake systems, U-joints, bearings, steering, and suspension. + Check emissions and perform drivability diagnosis. + Conduct light engine repairs on water pumps, injectors, and fuel pumps. + Read pneumatic and electrical drawings for troubleshooting. + Perform major and minor electrical repairs and maintenance. **Essential Skills** + Fleet maintenance + Hydraulics + Mechanical + Preventive maintenance + Diesel engine repair + Electrical repair + Mechanical diagnosis + Transmission repair + Welding + Inspection + Pneumatics + Diesel maintenance + Engine repair + Trailer repair + Automotive service + Diagnostic testing + Fleet service **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + At least 3 years of experience in gas or light-duty diesel engine repair. + Ability to lift 50 pounds or more with or without reasonable accommodation. + Ability to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation. + Ability to work in tight spaces for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation. + Willingness to work on weekends and holidays as needed. + Must be at least 21 years of age. + Experience with VCR's and Failures. + Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in vehicle maintenance. + Strong teamwork and communication skills. **Why Work Here** Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plans with matching, dental, health, and vision insurance, along with a $5000 retention bonus. **Work Environment** Service Center / Exposed to elements / Shop environment. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
