The Fleet Manager – will be responsible for managing all aspects of our vehicle and equipment fleet. This includes procurement, registration, maintenance, compliance, asset tracking, and evaluating cost-efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring 5–10 years of relevant experience and possess a strong logistics background.
Fleet Overview
300 tagged vehicles and trailers - ranging from half-ton pickups to tractor trailers 200 pieces of construction equipment - from welders to heavy machinery Primary asset locations: Ohio and Florida, with expansion underway in Virginia and ColoradoResponsibilities:
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop annual and 5-year capital expenditure plans for fleet acquisition, replacement, and expansion Oversee vehicle titling, licensing, and registration Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and reporting requirements Maintain an accurate and up-to-date equipment inventory using the company's accounting software Manage the equipment charge-out process to projects and ensure proper cost allocation Review and update internal charge-out rates by benchmarking against external rental rates Coordinate with the risk management team on insurance claims and incident reports Schedule and track preventive and corrective maintenance with in-house mechanics Administer the GPS tracking system to monitor vehicle safety, location, and maintenance needs Monitor and manage fuel usage, including onsite inventory and offsite purchases Analyze rental vs. purchase decisions for cost-effectivenessRequirements:
High School Diploma or GED- Logistics/Supply Chain Management degree preferred or 5-10 years of equivalent work experience in logistics, transportation or equipment management Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Logistics background is required Strong understanding of DOT regulations and fleet compliance Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management/accounting software Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Valid driver's license and clean driving record requiredPreferred Skills but not required – Nice to have:
