Job Description: The Fleet Manager is responsible for the purchasing, cost control, maintenance, repairs, local/state compliance, utilization, and overall operational management of Glass America company vehicles across all states. The Fleet Manager will incorporate their organizational, analytical, and leadership skills to maintain a safe and reliable fleet. Key Job Responsibilities + Oversee the company fleet to ensure all vehicles operate safely, including scheduling preventative maintenance, coordinating repairs, and managing licensing, registration, and required state inspections. + Lead negotiations for new vehicle purchases and coordinate necessary equipment conversions so vehicles are fully outfitted for Glass America Technicians + Establish and maintain a nationwide network of service providers to handle vehicle maintenance, repairs, or replacements as requested by Operations Management. + Administer fuel card requests for new employees and process replacements for cards that are lost, stolen, or damaged. + Enforce and track safety practices, including protocols for accident reporting and investigation. + Collaborate with corporate compliance to ensure all required documentation is submitted in line with insurance requirements following vehicle incidents. + Perform routine audits to verify accurate records of vehicle licensing, registration, maintenance, and repair history. + Design a maintenance strategy that scales with fleet needs, follows manufacturer guidelines, and reduces downtime or disruptions for field Technicians + Implement a monitoring system for vehicle mileage to identify units approaching the end of their service life Minimum Education and/or Experience Required for the Job + High School Diploma or GED required + Associate’s degree preferred but not required. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities + 3-5+ years of fleet management or fleet maintenance experience. + Current or previous experience managing a fleet of vehicles that span across multiple states. + Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. + Familiarity with financial reports and P&L statements Preferred Education and/or Experience + 4 year college Degree Please note, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
