About the role:
To lead and manage the admin staff within the Transport Department and ensure that all assets are run as effectively as possible and are always complaint
Role specifics:
To plan, direct and co-ordinate the operation of the LGV fleetEnsure that the full fleet complies with company and current legal legislationReview & report OCRS scores regularly and correlate maintenance failuresTo monitor and driver infringements, with actions to correct and reduceEnsure that vehicles are maintained in optimum condition from delivery to disposalTo hold regular supplier reviewsTo control costs and all expenditure whilst remaining within budgetTo notify the Traffic Commissioner of any penalties or change in situationTo lead and manage staff within the Transport DepartmentTo ensure operating centres do not breach margins for vehiclesTo provide support to the network, including full CPC cover at each siteTo monitor & report MOT pass rates and proactively responding to any MOT failuresTo ensure that all vehicle accidents are accurately recorded and investigatedTo ensure maintenance of the fleet database is kept up to date and is accurateTo analyse and where necessary re-position vehicles with over mileage To control the spot hire vehicles and trailers on and off as requiredTo ensure that the company has a consistent supply of fuel at all timesCompliance and maintenance of all MHE within the NetworkIn conjunction with accounts supply purchase orders for all expenditureThe ideal candidate will have:
LGV licence holder is desirableExcellent knowledge of road transport legislation Excellent knowledge of Drivers Hours Regulations and Working Time Regulations Displays a people development approach and outlookWhat about career development?
