Fleet Maintenance & Training Supervisor
**Fleet Maintenance & Training Supervisor** **JOB SUMMARY** This position is responsible for leading a team of specialized technical support staff that provides training and subject matter expertise in troubleshooting, diagnostics, testing and quality assurance of a wide array of vehicles and equipment that are critical to GPC and Gas internal customers including Distribution, Transmission, Generation and Field Operations. Additionally, this position researches and writes technical documents used across Southern Company in support of Fleet. **JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)** + College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required. + Proven leadership ability as a supervisor or demonstrated leader among peers. + Demonstrated ability to lead others to achieve results through effective performance management + Commercial Driver's License [CDL] is preferred. + Extensive mechanical and technical knowledge and experience regarding the maintenance of light and heavy-duty utility-fleet vehicles and equipment (i.e. derricks, aerial devices and cranes) + Knowledgeable in the use of various Original Equipment Manufacturer vehicle / equipment diagnostic software programs + Experienced and proficient in writing various maintenance and technical bulletins. Able to verbally communicate complex information to all levels of employees. + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications + History of demonstrating safe behaviors leading to Safety excellence. + Track record of handling multiple projects achieving results that meet or exceed customer expectations. **MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** + Leads a small maintenance team in trouble shooting and diagnostic support of ~5,500 vehicles/equipment serviced at 45 garages located statewide. + Provides oversight of crane inspections and torque wrench calibration as well as acoustic, di-electric and non-destructive testing. + Provide oversight of the statewide fleet pool and rental vehicles and equipment + Researches and writes technical documents for GPC and SOCO: Maintenance Action Bulletins, Technical Service Announcements, and Preventive Maintenance Updates. + Leadership and participation in statewide Fleet Maintenance Inspection Review Program. + Provides technical expertise during vehicle/equipment failures and safety investigations. + Tracks and communicates Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; manufacturer recalls; and status of the completion of various bulletins to organization. + Active participant in Southern Company Maintenance Team, Data Integrity Team, Tire Committee, Altec/SOCO Engineering Quality Equipment Team and Southeast Electric Exchange GPC representative. + Provides maintenance cost reporting to leadership. + Provides support during SERP. + Achieves Safety excellence results. + Responsible for training fleet mechanics to ensure they are knowledgeable and proficient in maintaining and repairing light and heavy-duty utility-fleet vehicles and equipment. + Provide oversight and coordination of the parts department operations at headquarters and across 47 garage locations, ensuring efficient inventory management and timely availability of parts. **Georgia Power** is the largest electric subsidiary of Southern Company (NYSE: SO), America's premier energy company.
