Frequently sitting for extended periods of timeSafely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer to deliver finished products to customersLoad or assist in loading finished product in trailerUnload or assist in unloading finished product from trailer with a forklift, hand truck, or by handInspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leavingVerify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customersOperate semi-truck with trailer according to state lawsTransport load by required route to proper destination while observing all traffic laws and safety regulationsChock rear wheels of truck or trailer before loading or unloading takes placeRemove chocks before driving away from loading/unloading destinationObtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork to shipping officeComplete daily timecard, driver logs, and all other work reports accurately and in a timely mannerRemove empty pallets from trailer and place in proper storage locationPerform daily services such as - checking the oil level, water level, fuel, and air in tiresReport any maintenance items to supervision immediatelyAssist in keeping the shipping warehouse and outside dock area clean and organized.Clean assigned vehicle dailyAccurately maintain required driver’s logs and other appropriateDepartment of Transportation paperworkUse proper lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending techniques.Perform each task in a manner which prevents bodily injury, equipment, and product damageObserve all safety and health guidelinesOther duties may be assigned by supervisionLearn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. 2+ years of CDL A driving experienceManual 10-speed transmission experience requiredForklift / Skid Steer exp a plus!High school diploma or GEDSpeak, read, and comprehend EnglishWrite legibly in EnglishGood physical condition, i.e. able to lift 25-50# on a consistent basisMust have a valid CDL license for the state appliedMust meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirementsMust pass substance abuse screening according to company policyRequires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of a tractor-trailer and in the prevention of damage to materials and equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently.
