As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to a global team that will create high quality products that meet rigid safety and airworthiness standards for flight.

Our department continues to push the technology envelope for processing technologies in everything from operating systems to user applications and the middleware which binds these together.

What You Will Do:

You will lead the design, development, and maintaining of flight-critical embedded display software for military avionics displays supporting programs such as KC-135, AWACS, C-130, E-2D and beyond.Able to identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools. Able to clearly summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion. Able to work autonomously with limited oversight from manager. Expand knowledge base on various software and system components to be able to support potential software development tasks. You will assist an engineering team by organizing tasks, coordinating team efforts, asking questions, communicating status, raising issues, brainstorming ideas, helping others, practicing active listening, and promoting a collaborative environment.

Qualifications You Must Have: 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer:

MATLAB Simulink experience (Model Based Development)ADA software language experienceAvionics experience (development or usage).Software development or testing experience.AGILE development experience.DO-178 (or similar) certification-based development experience.

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
