JOB RESPONSIBILITIES?
Comply with the provisions of the “Permanent Orders of the Chief Engineer”;
Perform tasks as instructed by the Duty Officer in the Engine Room;
Assist during watchkeeping duties;
Be present in the Engine Room, or in another previously designated location, during vessel maneuvers or in emergency situations;
Maintain, under the supervision of the duty engineering officer, all mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and installations in proper working condition;
Inspect in advance the systems required for the vessel’s operation, ensuring they are always in working order;
Immediately report to the Duty Officer in the Engine Room any irregularities observed during inspection;
Carry out scheduled maintenance of installations related to your activity and perform necessary repairs, under the supervision of the Duty Officer in the Engine Room.
