Position Summary:

The Fitness Instructor – Swimming Coach at Miraval The Red Sea delivers expert aquatic instruction that combines physical conditioning, breath control, and mindful movement. Through personalized coaching and immersive water experiences, the Swimming Coach supports guests in building confidence, strength, and a deep connection to their breath and body in the water. This role inspires guests of all skill levels—from beginners to advanced swimmers—offering transformative sessions that support Miraval’s philosophy of holistic well-being, emotional balance, and inner calm.

Key Responsibilities:

Coaching Guest Engagement:

Deliver personalized swimming sessions for all skill levels, including beginners teaching, technique refinement, aquatic fitness, mindful swimming, and water confidence training.Lead group aquatic classes, private lessons, and specialty programs, adapting instruction to individual goals and comfort levels.Emphasize body awareness, breath regulation, and mental clarity during swim practices, aligning with Miraval’s mindful movement philosophy.Foster a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for guests of all ages and backgrounds.Offer compassionate, constructive feedback and track guest progress to ensure a sense of accomplishment and self-discovery.Educate guests on the benefits of swimming as a tool for both physical health and emotional regulation.

Program Development Innovation:

Design and implement creative swim programs such as aqua fitness, relaxation floats, breathwork in water, and swim classes (group and private) for beginners or advanced swimmers.Stay informed on current swimming, aquatic fitness, and water wellness trends, integrating them into your offerings.Collaborate with wellness and fitness teams to develop hybrid programs that combine water movement, meditation, and emotional resilience.Create immersive experiences such as sunrise swims, silent swimming meditations, or stress-relief aquatic sessions.

Safety Risk Management:

Perform daily inspections of pool areas, equipment, and safety gear to ensure a clean, hazard-free environment.Follow all health, hygiene, and lifeguarding protocols as per Miraval’s standards and Saudi Arabian regulations.Be fully trained in water rescue, CPR, and First Aid, and respond quickly and calmly in the event of emergencies.Ensure all swim activities uphold the highest safety standards for guests, especially non-swimmers or children.Proactively address and report maintenance issues or guest concerns related to pool conditions or equipment.

Operations Service Excellence:

Prepare the pool area, locker rooms, and equipment with professionalism and care before and after each session.Ensure towels, flotation devices, water bottles, and any necessary gear are readily available and in excellent condition.Uphold a luxurious, organized, and serene poolside environment that reflects Miraval’s identity.Work with the Fitness Recreation Manager to support broader wellness operations and scheduling.

Revenue Generation Guest Upselling:

Mindfully promote private swim sessions, premium aquatic experiences, paid group classes, and specialty retreats through excellent service and tailored recommendations.Cross-sell relevant wellness services, such as spa treatments, breathwork workshops, watersports and fitness activities, retail items, or mindfulness experiences that complement aquatic sessions.Encourage guests to explore the full spectrum of Miraval offerings by understanding their wellness journey and making thoughtful suggestions.Contribute to departmental revenue goals through authentic, guest-centered upselling that adds value to each stay.

Guest Relations Emotional Support:

Qualifications Experience:

Certified Swimming Instructor with credentials from a recognized establishments (e.g., ASA, Red Cross, STA, ASCA, or equivalent).Current CPR, First Aid, and/or Lifeguard certification required.Minimum 2 years of experience in coaching or aquatic instruction at a resort, retreat, health club, or wellness setting.Experience leading private and group swim sessions across age groups and skill levels.Knowledge of aquatic fitness, water therapy, or breathwork practices in water is a strong plus.Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a bonus.Additional certifications in fitness, yoga, mindfulness, or hydrotherapy are an advantage.
