Overview ***This position is physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP*** Under the supervision of the Fitness Center Clerk (Lead), the Fitness Center Clerk provides customer service/public relations in a fitness-type facility. Position requires extensive interaction with a large customer base with the ability to handle customer issues. Maintains accurate event/facility attendance records for programs. Handles telephone inquiries, greets visitors, and provides information. Ensures security and accountability of both Government-furnished and expendable equipment/property. Ensures cleanliness/serviceability of equipment and check-out items. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of diploma. Licenses/Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid certification from a nationally/internationally accredited agency required within 60 days of hire. Personal trainer/fitness instructor certifications from a nationally (American) or internationally recognized accrediting agency preferred but not required. OCN Qualifications/Experience Requirements: High school degree or equivalent One (1) year of Personal trainer/fitness instructor experience. CPR/AED and First Aid certification from a nationally/internationally accredited agency required within 60 days of hire. Personal trainer/fitness instructor certifications from a nationally/internationally recognized accrediting agency preferred but not required. Skills: Must be able read, write and speak English fluently. Requires strong interpersonal skills to work with internal and external customers. Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
