As a Financial Control Senior Analyst in the Financial Control team, you will be performing many controls, checks, analysis and reconciliations in order to make sure the Financial Statements of the JP Morgan Corporate and Investment Bank are accurate. The most common daily functions and activities owned by Financial Controller include but are not limited to the following: balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation, general ledger reconciliation reporting & governance, inter-entity control and governance, manual accounting/bookings to the general ledger and operating systems, and executing the month end close process.
Job responsibilities
Be accountable for correctness, integrity and substantiation of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts for your Line of BusinessWork closely with other Finance functions e.g. Product Control, Asset Class Controllers, Middle Office, Technology, and OperationsPartner with FFC teams globallyManage the consolidation of JPMorgan Chase financial data at month-end for their asset class, including the ability to support month end, quarter end, and year end activitiesControl post-closing entries and consolidation adjustmentsBe able to proactively identify process and/or infrastructure enhancements and work with stakeholders enact changeMobilize change wherever possible in order to simplify processes and enhance controlsRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or within other numerical fieldMinimum of 1+ year experience in Banking, Accounting or other Finance functionGood understanding of General Ledger accounting concepts (Balance Sheet, P&L)Excellent command of business English and communication skills (both written and spoken)Self-driven attitude with good organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issuesComfort liaising with business and partners while building and maintaining strong working relationshipsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel SAP knowledge will be value addedAlteryx knowledge will be value added
