The Firmware Test Engineer I will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute tests used to validate firmware used on embedded systems. You will interface with the hardware design and agile teams throughout the product development process to ensure on-time delivery of firmware components. **You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:** + Design, develop, execute, and troubleshoot test procedures for firmware features, applications, and subsystems of low to mid-level complexity under the supervision of senior engineers. + Assist with the review and refinement of engineering requirements for test needs. + Support peer-review of test designs and automation. + Support execution of test plans that enable the delivery of firmware that meets all requirements through testing + Assist in the continuous improvement efforts of test development. + Conduct experiments, perform simulations, and draw concise, logical conclusions by analyzing data. + Use Agile methods to track tasks to ensure adherence to schedule and Milwaukee Tool’s processes. + Schedule, develop agendas for, facilitate, and document technical meetings and formal presentations. **What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:** + Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. + Experience with testing, embedded systems and/or PCBA design. + Ability to read, create schematics and component data sheets, along with a basic understanding of digital circuits to understand the interaction between firmware and electronics. + Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, e-loads, data acquisition systems, multimeters, power analyzers, etc. + Knowledge of and some experience participating in the software development lifecycle. + Familiarity with tools used for software configuration management, requirements management, defect tracking, and peer review. + Exposure to DevOps, automated testing, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). + Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement, and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment. + Self-motivated, organized, efficient, and process oriented. + Strong communication skills (verbal and written). + Ability to travel up to 10% (Domestic and International). **Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:** + Experience with National Instrument hardware, Test Stand, and LabView in automated testing. + Experience with Python, C#, or C/C++. + Experience in Altium Designer or similar. + Experience with unit testing and structural testing methodologies. + Relevant experience outside of an academic setting (i.e. internship, co-op, self-study, hobbies). + Experience collaborating cross-functionally outside of your core discipline. + Exposure to bare-metal firmware design. **We provide these great perks and benefits:** + Robust health, dental and vision insurance plans. + Generous 401 (K) savings plan. + Education assistance. + On-site wellness, fitness center, food, and coffee service. + And many more, check out our benefits site HERE (https://www.milwaukeetool.jobs/Benefits) . _Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer._ Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled We endeavor to make this site accessible to any and all users.
