Firmware Test Engineer

If you’re looking for variety in your work and the chance to contribute to high-performance, environmentally friendly solutions, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. **JOB DUTIES:** + Perform black-box software testing (including regression and ad-hoc), primarily on embedded systems—on real devices, with occasional testing of mobile and web applications + Requirements analysis and test design; create test scenarios, perform error analysis, and report defects + Develop and maintain automated test scripts to support continuous testing efforts + Design and build tools or devices to support testing and prototype development—ideal for hands-on problem solvers + Share knowledge and support the growth of technical skills within the team through collaboration and mentoring + Work closely with developers and cross-functional teams across global locations—strong English communication skills are essential **YOU MUST HAVE:** + Experience with software testing and basic scripting skills in Python or C# + Hands-on knowledge of analog and digital electronics; ability to read schematics, BOMs, and use basic tools (e.g. soldering iron) + Practical experience with prototyping platforms (e.g. Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32 or nRF) + Familiarity with wired communication protocols (such as UART, plus I2C, SPI, CAN). + Basic understanding of wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, ZigBee, Z-Wave, Matter) + Basic knowledge of wireless network setup (e.g. configuring Wi-Fi routers). + Ability to measure electrical parameters, diagnose faults and analyse results using tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, or logic analysers + Valid professional qualification in electrical engineering in accordance with Act No. 250/2021 Coll. and Decree No. 194/2022 Coll – (formerly "Decree 50“) **WE VALUE:** + Familiarity with development tools such as Renesas, SEGGER (J-Link), Total Phase (Cheetah SPI), etc. + Experience with tools and technologies like Jira, JAMA, SVN, and API testing platforms (e.g. Postman, ReadyAPI). **WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:** + 5 weeks of paid vacation + Hybrid work model + Flexible working hours + On-site canteen & home office meal vouchers + Pension plan or DIP contributions + Discounted phone plans & company product discounts + Multisport Card & cafeteria program + Be part of a mission to create energy-efficient solutions that benefit the planet + Work on global-scale projects with innovative technologies \#LI-VH1 \#LI-HYBRID Resideo is a $6.76 billion global manufacturer, developer, and distributor of technology-driven sensing and control solutions that help homeowners and businesses stay connected and in control of their comfort, security, energy use, and smart living.
