Join a dynamic team where you will learn and understand an existing code base to update and modify it, addressing new requirements and delivering new capabilities. This role demands excellent debugging skills, particularly with hardware and bare-metal development needs. You will work with pure bare-metal in C, not embedded Linux or RTOS.
ResponsibilitiesLearn and understand the existing code base to effectively update and modify it.Address new requirements and deliver new capabilities through coding.Utilize excellent debugging skills in hardware and bare-metal development.Collaborate with teams to engage in troubleshooting and development.Participate in daily scrum meetings to discuss tasks and goals.Engage in development, writing code, building, deploying, troubleshooting, and debugging.Contribute to weekly development discussions addressing problem areas and system issues.Essential SkillsProficiency in firmware development using Embedded C and C/C++.Experience with bare-metal development, including low-level programming.Strong debugging skills, specifically with hardware.Ability to work with device drivers and kernels in C programming.BS in Engineering or related field.5+ years of professional experience strongly preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with embedded Linux build systems, such as Yocto.Ability to produce technical design documentation.Experience working in embedded Linux is a plus.Ability to read schematics and work comfortably with hardware.Familiarity with tools including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.Prior experience working in related industries is advantageous.Work Environment
This position is on a contract to hire basis with a requirement of four days on-site, with Friday as a flexible day. You will work in a large campus environment with hundreds of people on site, where manufacturing is done in-house. The daily routine includes a 9am scrum meeting to discuss tasks and goals, followed by a mix of software and hardware development activities. The campus features state-of-the-art facilities, including a new building dedicated to research and development. The work environment is highly collaborative, resembling an advanced college senior design project, with nearly everything managed in-house. The company culture is diverse and inclusive, focused on the growing importance of the water quality industry.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr.
