Firewall Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Firewall Engineer to support a major firewall migration project from Palo Alto to Cisco technologies. This is a 9-12 month contract opportunity with a well-established organization, offering the chance to work on a high-impact infrastructure transformation. What You’ll Do: + Lead and support the migration from Palo Alto to Cisco firewalls across a global network. + Analyze existing configurations and translate them into Cisco equivalents while maintaining security compliance. + Configure and troubleshoot Cisco ASA, Firepower, and other Cisco security appliances. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network operations, security, and engineering. + Document firewall configurations, migration steps, and network topology. + Provide post-migration support and optimize firewall performance. + Conduct risk assessments and assist with vulnerability testing. + Mentor junior engineers on Cisco firewall technologies and best practices. What You Bring: + Proven experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls (ASA, Firepower). + Strong understanding of network security protocols, VPN, NAT, IPSec, and firewall rule sets. + Hands-on experience with routing and switching (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP). + Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS). + CCNP Security or Palo Alto PCNSE certification preferred. + Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. This role requires a full-time onsite presence and cannot be negotiated to hybrid or remote model. 5 days onsite are mandatory. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
