Our **Product Compliance & Certification Engineer** drives innovation in our Fire Safety R&D team in Parsippany, New Jersey. In this crucial role, you'll lead testing and certification initiatives that ensure our life-saving products meet and exceed rigorous UL standards. As a hands-on laboratory expert, you'll conduct sophisticated testing and validation of advanced fire detection and alarm systems. Your technical expertise and dedication to safety will directly impact the development of next-generation life-safety technologies, helping protect communities worldwide.
**As a Product Compliance & Certification Engineer, you will:**
+ Design and execute comprehensive testing programs for fire safety products, partnering with UL and Factory Mutual (FM) for environmental, electrical safety, and durability validation
+ Lead laboratory evaluations of product construction, materials, and operational reliability under diverse environmental conditions
+ Guide hands-on testing activities and mentor laboratory technicians in proper test procedures and equipment operation
+ Serve as technical liaison between development teams and regulatory agencies, ensuring seamless product compliance
+ Create and manage detailed compliance documentation packages for regulatory submissions
+ Provide technical support to regulatory compliance handlers as needed.
+ Drive continuous improvement through innovative testing methodologies and best practices
+ Work well in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
+ Have excellent time management skills, dedication to meeting deadlines, initiative, and ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced, and changing environment.
**You’ll make an impact with these qualifications:**
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in industrial, electrical, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
+ 3+ years of hands-on experience testing regulated electronic/electrical products in a laboratory environment.
+ On-the-job or educational experience with construction evaluation and physical testing of life safety equipment.
+ Must be able to demonstrate:
+ Experience with laboratory operations and test programs.
+ Expertise in performing tests with environmental chambers, electrical safety analyzers, and physical test equipment.
+ Strong background in failure analysis of electronic/electrical components and mechanical assemblies.
+ Commitment to product safety and quality, with extensive experience in physical inspection and validation techniques.
+ Hands-on experience conducting UL CTDP physical compliance testing for regulated electronic products
+ Being practiced with organizing test data and product information for compliance package submittals.
+ Effective communication skills. An ability to present clear and concise information and to tailor information to the needs of the audience.
+ Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Hands-on experience conducting UL CTDP physical compliance testing for regulated Fire Safety Products
