Fire/Life Safety Systems Service Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems. You will ensure that components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer. Our Fire/Life Safety Systems Service Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.
As a Fire/Life Safety Systems Service Technician, you will:
Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards Work alongside mentors, Lead Technicians, and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively Assist with or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps. Work well with others, take ownership, be a team player, and act with integrity. Assist with or perform installation, repair, and maintenance of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, backflow preventers, fire hydrants, underground and fire pumps. Assist with or perform fire sprinkler, fire pump and other water-based equipment inspections and testing. Properly document deficiencies/impairments noted during inspections or service work and follow required process of reporting deficiencies while on-site. Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all work performed. Generate reports within Siemens digital tools. Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site to include customer signature. Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and assist with training. Work overtime when needed. Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures. This position reports to the local Supervisor and takes direction from a mentor and Lead Technician.You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or state-recognized GED. Electro-mechanical Experience (either in a previous role or through education) and user PC/software skill Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months Experience with Microsoft OfficeMust be able to demonstrate: The ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customersWillingness to learn and grow within the company.Customer-facing and customer service skills.Ability and willingness to follow and maintain highly structured schedules.Verbal and written communication skills in English. Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorshipPreferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred 3+ years’ experience installing commercial Fire Alarm, Emergency lighting & Fire extinguishers equipment. Ability to read/understand design and construction documentsYou’ll benefit from:
