Provides reliable support through maintaining, designing and modification of fire protections fire alarm systems. Conduct thorough on-site inspections and preventive maintenance on all fire alarm systems
Responsibilities

Maintain, design, and modification of fire alarm systemsEffectively design, select components, or modify existing systems after design criteria is determinedCapable of independently determining Fire Protection requirements and options based on project design criteriaDiagnose and evaluate systems that require servicing as well troubleshoot issues that arise. Make repairs as necessary. Integrate firmware and hardware components of the overall system designDocument a regular inspection and maintenance program in accordance with NFPA requirementsPerform other duties and assignments as stipulated in the PWS
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.High School Diploma or equivalent, Electrical and/or Engineering degree (preferred), NICET III (preferred).Experience:Minimum five (5) proven years of experience in fire emergency services as a Fire Alarm Technician.Skills:Knowledge of Fire Alarm System componentsKnowledge of safety principles pertaining to fire protectionKnowledge of fire hazards common to commercial, industrial and residential structures.Ability to prepare reports and make recommendationsKnowledge in the area of construction and modification plans reviewWorking Conditions:Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.Physical Requirements:Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
