Job Title: Material Handler
Education Requirement(s): Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
Summary:
Responsible for loading/removing and bringing needed materials to production lines and stations. Oversee the organization of WIP and supplies for production while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Maintain housekeeping and 5S to standards set by management. Support the purpose of the team as stated in the “why” page by participating in initiatives and activities and attending all meetings schedules during shift. Additional job duties as assigned by department manager.
Safety:
Required – PPE must be worn while on your job. At a minimum safety glass, steel toe shoes and hearing protection. Gloves are always required on the production floor and warehouses. Please see Appendix A and Appendix B (Conover Specific) attached to the WestRock Glove Policy (CompliantPro). Bump cap per company policy
Required – All safety policies and guidelines must be followed.

Training:
Training requirements for this position are maintained in the Training Module of Compliant Pro.
Compliance with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, i.e. SQF, safety, etc.
Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe shoes, hair nets, cut-resistant gloves are needed.
· Testing and Measuring Ability (General Math): Ability to use and read basic measurement devices, (calculator, tape measure, and ruler.) Requires pallet jack operation and forklift certification. Pass Farnsworth Munsel-100 Hue Test.
· Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality.
· Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
· Knowledge of Cartons: Perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
Essential/Marginal Functions and Physical Requirements:
Essential: Take/retrieve excess pallets to/from sheeting warehouse as needed. Remove empty skids from gluers, cellos, waxers. Take completed Flat Pack load to warehouse. Keep warehouse/ drive aisles swept, clean and orderly.
