How will you make an impact in this role?
As part of the Global Financial Operations (GFO) Organization within Corporate Controllership, this role is responsible for enabling and promoting financial integrity across American Express’ systems for the Finance organization.
The Global Financial Initiatives and Integrity (GFII) team within GFO plays a critical role supporting Business and Finance driven initiatives by ensuring the ongoing integrity of the Company’s accounting and financial reporting as required under AEMP 16 (American Express’s internal Financial System Controls Policy that defines a consistent standard for control and financial reporting requirements that must be established during any Technology or system change). GFII is organized under the following pillars: Global Loyalty & Benefits, Network, & Banking; Global AR, Merchant, & Enterprise Transformation; and Strategy & GFII Program Management Office (PMO). This role, Analyst – Financial Systems, will join one of the pillars in GFII, responsible for providing analysis and inputs on project initiatives, help define Finance requirements, develop user stories, and advise on system controls to be in place to ensure integrity within our accounting and financial reporting processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar fieldBasic understanding of Finance and/or business systemsAnalytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to create impactful relationships with key stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated organizational skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines and support multiple projects simultaneouslyPro-active and creative approach to solving problemsBeing self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to manage time effectivelyPositive attitude and a quick learnerPreferred Qualifications
